From 1 July 2018, a Payment Card Surcharge will apply to all account payments made by credit and debit card.
This surcharge is a straight pass through of costs from our financial institution and relates to all account payments made with a VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Diners Club card. The surcharge won’t apply to pass payments or toll invoices.
Indicatively, the following surcharges will be applied: MasterCard Credit and Visa Credit 0.52%, MasterCard Debit and Visa Debit 0.32%, American Express 2.15% and Diners Club 1.90%. Please note, these rates are determined by our bank and card provider and can vary from time to time, so it’s possible they may change on 1 July 2018. You’ll be able to access the effective surcharges in the fees and charges section of our website.
Please be aware that if you have a credit or debit card linked to your account for auto top up, you will be charged a Payment Card Surcharge for all transactions from 1 July 2018. You can avoid this fee by switching to a direct debit from your nominated bank account.
If you’d prefer to be fee free, you’ve got time to update your account details. Simply log in to your account and select the ‘Set up auto payments’ option, following the prompts for direct debit payments.
