Frequently asked questions

  • Can I apply if I'm not sure I'm eligible?

Yes. You can still request support if you’re not sure whether you qualify.

We understand that hardship can happen for many reasons, including illness, unemployment, family violence, disability or other circumstances beyond your control.

Our team will listen without judgement and assess your situation individually.

  • What happens after I apply for support?

After you request support, our Linkt Assist team will review your situation.

We assess each request on a case-by-case basis and may contact you if we need more information.

Depending on your circumstances, support may include more time to pay, a payment plan, a payment-free period, help with some or all of the debt owed to us, or support with eligible toll infringements.

We’ll let you know the next steps once we’ve reviewed your request.

  • How long will it take to hear back?

We’ll review your request as soon as we can.

The time it takes may depend on your circumstances, the information you provide, and whether we need to contact you for more details.

If your situation is urgent, please tell us when you submit your request so we can understand what is happening.

  • Do I need to provide documents?

We may ask for documents or extra information to help us understand your situation and assess what support may be available.

This may include information about your income, expenses, assets, liabilities, or other documents that support your circumstances.

You don’t need to have everything ready before asking for help. If we need more information, we’ll let you know what to provide.

We’ll only collect, use or share your personal information with your consent.

  • Will applying for support affect my credit score?

Requesting support does not directly affect your credit score.

If toll debt remains unpaid, further action may happen depending on the type of debt and where it is in the process.

Contacting us early gives us the best chance to understand your situation and talk you through your options.

  • Can I still use toll roads while getting support?

We know that mobility is essential, and not being able to travel can make hardship more difficult.

In most cases, you can still use toll roads while your support request is being reviewed or while support is in place.

Any new toll travel may still need to be paid. If you keep travelling, it’s important to understand what charges may apply and keep your account details up to date.

We can talk you through this as part of your support request.

  • I received a toll notice or fine. What does this mean?

A toll payment demand, toll notice or fine means there may be unpaid toll travel linked to your vehicle.

If you’ve received a toll notice, it usually means a toll trip was not paid by the due date. The notice may include the toll amount and additional fees.

If you’ve received a fine or infringement, the matter may have progressed beyond Linkt and may now be managed by the relevant enforcement authority.

If you’re experiencing difficulty paying, please contact us as soon as you can. We’ll listen without judgement and work with you to understand what support may be available.

  • I have a business account. Can I still apply?

If you have a business account and are experiencing difficulty paying, you can still contact us.

The Transurban Hardship Policy may be extended to small business owners on a case-by-case basis. Commercial customers may not meet the criteria for support under the Hardship Policy, but Linkt may still be able to consider other support options depending on the circumstances.

Make a support request and we’ll take care of the rest.
