How LinktGO works
With LinktGO, you can cover toll road travel on all toll roads in Australia. All you need to do is register your vehicle to the app and add a payment method.
You can’t use LinktGO if you already have a Linkt account, as you could be charged twice for trips.
LinktGO is compatible with:
- iPhones 14 and above
- Android 8 and above
LinktGO isn’t eligible for M5 South-West Cashback, NSW Toll Relief or the Large Towed Recreational Vehicle Toll Rebate (LTRVTR). Find out more about cashback and rebates
Tracking and paying for trips with LinktGO
Once you have successfully registered a payment method and a vehicle in LinktGO, you’ll receive a trip notification after you travel on a toll road. This makes it easier to pay as you go. If you have enabled Real Time Tracking in the LinktGO app, you'll receive the trip notification within a couple of hours. If your GPS trip was not detected, you’ll receive your trip notification within one week, via our Delayed Detection technology.
After you’ve travelled on a toll road, LinktGO will notify you of the cost of your trip. You can also view your trip details and pay for your trip directly using the app.
Real Time Tracking
Real Time Tracking uses the GPS on your mobile device to track any toll road trips. This means you will receive your trip notification within a couple of hours after travelling on a toll road. Make sure you enable ‘Location Permission’ in the Settings of your mobile device, and toggle the GPS tracking switch to ‘On’, in the app, before you travel.
To turn on Real Time Tracking:
- Open the LinktGO app
- Toggle the ‘Real Time Tracking Switch’ in the top right of your screen to ‘ON’
- Keep it on until you’ve arrived
For your safety, please launch the app before you start driving. The app works both open and in the background.
Delayed Detection trips
Sometimes the LinktGO app might not detect your GPS location in real time, which can prevent it from showing your trip in the app. But don't worry, if you drove on a toll road, the toll point will still detect your vehicle and send your trip data to LinktGO within a week. You'll get a notification when this happens, and your trip will show up as a Delayed Detection trip in the Unpaid Trips section of the app.
As long as your LinktGO access isn't blocked due to overdue payments, and your vehicle is registered with LinktGO, Delayed Detection means you’ll still be covered by LinktGO when you travel.
If it’s been more than a week since you travelled and you still can’t see your trip in the app, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to help.
