The following section includes scams that are known to be using the Linkt and Transurban brands to target our customers in an attempt to gain their personal information.

Not every type of scam will be listed here but we'll do our best to identify any new types of scams and inform you about how they may appear.

If you’ve received a suspicious email, message or phone call that doesn’t appear on this page, please report the scam to us.

Some customers, including those without an account with us, reported receiving SMS messages that direct users to click a short URL. Often these have poor grammar and spelling mistakes, along with requiring urgent actions.

text message saying Linkt: Overdue E-tag notifications to avoid receiving fines. Using an Un Authorised Linkt-gov-club URL to visit in order to expedite the process and advising it's from an Linkt company, which is incorrect.

text message saying Linkt: Please pay your bill immediately to avoid receiving a penalty notice. Using an Un Authorised Linkt-gov-club URL to visit in order to expedite the process and advising it's from an Linkt company, which is incorrect

text message saying Notice: Vehicle tolls are in arrears. Please settle this amount as soon as possible to avoid any late fees or penalties. Please check: Using an unauthorised URL linkt.gov.club and threatening to restrict travel.

text message saying Linkt: Your bill and leading to an unauthorised Linkttol URL

text message from a recruiter called Frank offering several Transurban roles and discussing pay rates and asking if the reader has zoom, while using poor grammar

text messaging about an unpaid toll using a linkt assist URL that is not authorised and an incorrect spelling

text message saying the toll is overdue but using a misspelt url

text message saying E-toll electronic tag payment has failed but using a url that linkt does not authorise and using the Act Now call to action

text message saying Linkt: You have a deliquent arrears, to avoid penalties and fines, visit - mentioning an unauthorised URL - while calling for immediate action

text message saying Linkt: The vehicle toll has expired and now your vehicle cannot be used, to avaoid late fees or penalties, please check - mentiong an unauthorised URL and using urgent call to action along with typos

text message saying Linkt: Your vehicle toll bill is past due. Need to be paid ASAP on - unauthorised URL. Followed by threatening to have travel restricted.

text message saying Hi. This is a quick note from linkt to let you know that we have yet to receive payment from yourselves of $6.95. Please pay via - reference of an unauthorised URL - and an ASAP call to action. This has poor grammar and spelling mistakes.

Some users have reported that after receiving scam email, they are directed to a website that contains Linkt branding.

This email claims to be from Linkt and features a branded banner. However it's a fake email. Do not reply or click on links. Remember to check the sender's email address, and check our list of trusted emails to know when it's really from us.

This email is branded similar to other Linkt material and claims the person can claim money back. This outlines how to reclaim the offer and provides links in the Linkt colours. It uses wording to claim this promptly and only within an applicable period.

This email claims to be from Linkt and looks pretty convincing, but it's fake. Remember to check the sender's email address, and check our list of trusted emails to know when it's really from us.

The link in the email may look legitimate and signed off from the IT Security Department however this is a scam.

 

Beware of phone scams pretending to be from Linkt. These scammers might call you and ask for a payment to settle an overdue amount or to update your account details to prevent it from being closed. They may even send you an email or SMS with a link to a phishing scam website designed to steal your personal information.
