Cover past toll road travel
If you've travelled on a toll road in Melbourne, Sydney or Queensland, you can cover your past trips by buying a pass, opening an account or adding a vehicle to your existing account after you travel, as long as you do this within the required time frames. The time frames depend on which toll roads you have used and the account or pass you choose.
Timeframes for covering past trips
For travel on all Australian toll roads, except for EastLink, and Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel
- Buy a pass within 5 days of travelling
- Open an account within 9 days of travelling
- Add a vehicle to your existing account within 9 days of travelling
For travel on EastLink
- Buy a Visitor’s Pass within 3 days of travelling
For travel on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel
- You will need to open an accout or buy a pass before you travel
Trips made more than 9 days ago
You won’t be able to cover travel made on a toll road that was more than 9 days ago with an account or a pass. We’ll send a toll invoice (which includes additional fees) to the vehicle’s registered owner. The toll invoice will include each trip made on a toll road more than 9 days ago.
Find out how to pay a toll invoice
If you receive a toll invoice, you can save on additional fees by opening an account and transferring the toll invoice to your new account.
Commercial account applications are subject to a credit check and are not opened at the time you complete the online application form. If you need to travel now or have travelled within the past 5 days you can buy a pass to cover your travel until your account is opened. Existing Commercial accounts can add new vehicles to cover travel made within the last 9 days .
