What is tolling
A toll road, indicated by blue and orange road signs in Victoria, blue and yellow signs in Queensland and blue and white signs in New South Wales, is a road that you must pay to drive on. Instead of paying at a toll booth, your vehicle will be detected and charged electronically. Watch this video to find out more about Australian toll roads and how to pay for your trips.
A toll invoice or notice is a bill for unpaid travel on a toll road. In this video, you’ll learn about why you might receive one and how to avoid it. If you’re experiencing financial difficulty and are having trouble paying for a toll invoice or notice, the Linkt Assist team may be able to help. Watch more.
How do I add a car to my account after I've used a toll road?
You can cover your trips on certain toll roads* even after you've travelled. Provided it's within 10 days of the date you travelled, add the car to your account and you'll be covered.
When adding the car to your account, you'll have a choice to set a start and end date. The start date can be set up to 10 days prior to the date of your trip. If you travelled more than 10 days ago a toll invoice or notice will be sent to the car's registered owner.
To add a car to your account online or via the Linkt app follow these steps:
How do I transfer a toll invoice or notice to my account?
You can use your Linkt account balance to pay a toll invoice or notice provided you have sufficient funds in your account.
If your account balance is lower than the value of your invoice or notice, you'll need to top up your account before you complete the transfer.
To transfer, log in to your account and select Pay a toll invoice or demand notice from the menu. Follow the prompts to transfer to your account.
You'll be provided with a receipt, which you can choose to print or have emailed to you.
Driving in Sydney?
If you've been issued a toll notice from the M5 South-West Motorway, call them directly on 1300 555 833 to transfer any toll notices. You'll need to provide your Linkt account number and licence plate number.
Toll notices issued for travel on the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Sydney Harbour Tunnel can't be transferred. To pay, contact Transport for NSW.
Tolls are the amounts charged for travelling on a toll road. The total amount is calculated electronically, based on when you travel, how far you go and your vehicle class.
Fees are separate charges that apply in particular circumstances, depending on the type of account or pass you have.
The price of most passes (excluding the Melbourne Pass) is inclusive of all tolls and fees.

I wasn't driving the vehicle at the time of travel
If you've received a toll invoice for a vehicle you've sold, or you weren't driving the vehicle when the toll was incurred, you can transfer it to the correct person. This is called a toll invoice nomination.
If there are multiple trips listed and the other driver isn't responsible for all of them, you'll need to download, complete and return a Toll Invoice Nomination Statement form.
You can use this form to:
nominate another driver,
state you have sold or disposed of the vehicle and nominate the new owner,
state that the vehicle/number plates were stolen; or
reject a nomination.
Keep in mind a toll invoice can only be transferred twice.
