  • My tag doesn't beep

    My tag doesn't beep

Your tag should beep as you pass through toll points on the road. If it doesn't, the tag may need to be reinstalled or is faulty.

Please refer to our guides linked below and try reinstalling your tag.

Our tag health check can help you figure out if your tag is faulty, and will let you order a replacement online.

  • I have a Tag account but I received a toll notice

When your Tag account is topped up and your account details are up to date, all your toll payments are automatically deducted from your account.

You will receive a toll notice if:

You may receive a toll notice if:

    • your Tag isn’t installed correctly and/or beeping and
    • your licence plate number isn’t registered to your account

You will be charged a no tag in vehicle fee if your tag isn’t installed correctly and/or beeping.

No tag in vehicle fees are $0.75 per trip for the WestLink M7 or $0.55 per trip for all other Sydney toll roads.

To avoid toll notices and unnecessary fees check that:

  • I travelled without a tag

    I travelled without a tag

As long as your vehicle’s licence plate number is registered on your Transurban Linkt account, your travel is covered and you will not receive a toll notice. However, you will incur a no tag in vehicle fee of:

$0.75 per trip on WestLink M7
$0.55 per trip on all other Sydney toll roads

These fees will be added to your account.

If your licence plate number is not registered to your account, you can add a vehicle to your existing account to cover travel made up to 7 days ago by logging into your account. If you don't cover your travel within this time frame, a toll notice will be issued.

  • I travelled on a toll road, how do I pay?

I travelled on a toll road, how do I pay?

You can buy a Sydney Pass or open an account after you've travelled, but there are time limits for doing so.

For the Sydney Pass, you have 3 days after your first trip to buy a pass.

For Tag and Tagless accounts, you have 7 days after your first trip* to open an account.

If you don't cover your travel in these time frames, a toll notice with payment instructions will be sent to the vehicle's registered owner.

*Backdating is only available for travel on Eastern Distributor, Hills M2, Lane Cove Tunnel & Military Road E-Ramp and Westlink M7 in NSW and CityLink in Victoria. If you have travelled on Sydney Harbour Bridge & Tunnel, or M5 South-West Motorway account backdating is not available.
