The trial closure of the northbound Cleveland Street off-ramp on the Eastern Distributor and South Dowling Street will be made permanent from 1 February 2018.

The trial closure of the northbound Cleveland Street off-ramp on the Eastern Distributor and South Dowling Street will be made permanent from 1 February 2018.

The trial which commenced on 10 July 2017 has been successful, and the anticipated outcomes of having safer, faster and more reliable journeys for motorists on Eastern Distributor and South Dowling Street have been confirmed.

This has led to the planned permanent implementation of this off-ramp closure, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. As was the case during the trial, the full closure continues to ensure that South Dowling Street can remain as two lanes 24 hours a day.

Signage will remain in place to inform motorists of the change in access to Cleveland Street. Motorists who wish to access Cleveland Street from the Eastern Distributor will need to exit earlier at the South Dowling Street or Link Road exits.
