My credit card is about to expire but I can’t update my auto payment details

In most instances, there's no need to update your auto payment details when your credit card expires. Our system will automatically extend your card expiry by 2 or 3 years.

If you try to update your auto payments while an update to your card's expiry date is being applied you may see an error message.

If you only need to change the expiry date, no action is required. The automatic extension will be applied from the beginning of the next calendar month.

If the problem continues or you need to make other urgent changes to your auto payments details and are concerned your travel may not be covered, please contact our customer care team.

Do I need to update my auto payment details when my credit card reaches its expiry date?

In most instances, there's no need to update your auto payment details when your credit card expires. Our system will automatically extend your card expiry by 2 or 3 years.

Most financial institutions will continue to accept auto payments as long as the automatically extended expiry date matches the expiry date on your new card.

However, if your expiry date or card number changes when your new card is issued, your auto payments will fail. If this happens and your account balance falls below your trigger amount, we'll send you a low balance alert and your tag will beep multiple times to indicate you need to make a payment.

Any auto payment failure will be highlighted in the auto payments section of the My Account home screen, next to your account balance.
