Toll Relief – the NSW Government’s initiative to help frequent toll road customers claim free vehicle registration

The NSW Government has introduced Toll Relief in an effort to reduce the cost of living for frequent toll road users. The claim can be made for travel following the end of the financial year.

As a Transurban Linkt customer, you may be eligible for free vehicle registration as part of the NSW Government’s Toll Relief initiative.

Toll Relief is available to customers who have a toll account with a NSW toll provider.

To be eligible you need to:

  • spend $1,300 or more on NSW toll roads during a financial year (1 July – 30 June, on average, $25 or more per week)
  • drive a NSW privately registered car, ute, 4WD or motorcycle
  • be a NSW resident
  • add your licence plate to your toll account.

Toll Relief doesn’t apply to tolls paid for heavy vehicles or vehicles registered for any use other than private.

If you’re registered for the M5 Cashback Scheme, your M5 tolls don’t count towards Toll Relief. You can choose to opt out of the M5 Cashback Scheme by calling us on 13 33 31 between 7am and 7pm and have all of your future toll spend count towards Toll Relief.
