Do I need to provide my licence plate number for my Sydney Pass?

Yes, you’ll need to provide your licence plate number when you buy a Sydney Pass or open a Tag or Tagless account. You’ll also need to provide your vehicle’s make and model.

When you travel, our tolling cameras photograph your licence plate number and match it to your pass. If your licence plate number is not registered on your account, you'll be issued with a toll notice and charged additional fees.

If this has happened to you, contact our customer care team and we'll help you sort it out.

  • Can I change the end date of my Sydney Pass?

Can I change the end date of my Sydney Pass?

A Sydney pass can be valid for up to 30 days. If you’ve set your Sydney Pass to expire before the full 30 day period and change your mind, you can extend the end date to cover the full 30 day period. For example, if you originally set up your pass for 10 days, you can extend it for another 20 days.

You can change the end date of your Sydney Pass by changing the end date of the vehicles linked to your pass. Simply follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your account. Go to Vehicles in the main menu.
    2. Select a vehicle and click Edit vehicle
    3. Change the end date to extend your pass for that vehicle. Click Submit.
    4. If you have multiple vehicles on your Sydney pass, you'll need to extend the end date for every vehicle covered by your pass.

If you have set your pass for less than 30 days, it will expire on your set end date. Otherwise, your pass will expire 30 days from the start date. If you plan to use toll roads regularly, consider opening an account.

  • I have a tag from Melbourne or Brisbane. Do I need to buy a pass for my Sydney travel?

I have a tag from Melbourne or Brisbane. Do I need to buy a pass for my Sydney travel?

All Australian tolling tags can be used nationwide, including on toll roads in Sydney.

Just make sure your licence plate number is listed on your account before you travel interstate.

If you’re borrowing a car while in Sydney, you can still use your tag. Just add the vehicle’s licence plate number to your account while you’re in town, and remember to remove it when you leave.

It’s worth noting that Sydney toll charges and fees may take a little longer to appear on your account than local trips.
