We’re conducting routine tolling system testing on the West Gate Freeway as part of West Gate Tunnel opening preparation
Testing of the new tolling gantry near Millers Road will take place from Friday 18 July to Wednesday 23 July, between 10am and 3pm daily.
This work will ensure the tolling system is safe and ready before the tunnel opens later this year.
What to expect
There will be no traffic impacts, and no tolls will be charged during testing even if your tag beeps.
Most customers won’t notice a thing – but if you have an older interstate tag (such as a Q-Free Type A tag), you may hear a single beep when driving under the new gantry.
Once open, only heavy vehicles using the West Gate Tunnel will be tolled at this location.
