Get your business ready for the West Gate Tunnel

The West Gate Tunnel is a connection designed with freight in mind, giving new direct access to the Port of Melbourne and a range of pricing options. With an upgraded West Gate Freeway and fewer stops and turns, your fleet can stay on the move.

Before the West Gate Tunnel opens later this year, get your business ready with our travel tips.

Discounts for heavy and long vehicles

AM peak toll for light vehicles in your fleet

If you’re heading to the city via the West Gate Tunnel, you’ll notice that the City West exits to Footscray Road, Wurundjeri Way and Dynon Road will be tolled on weekdays (excluding public holidays) between 7am-9am.

If you are driving a light vehicle such as a motorcycle, car or van, and you use these exits during the weekday peak, you'll see an AM peak toll charge of your trip history in addition to the tunnel toll.

If you’re driving a heavy or long vehicle, you will not be charged at this toll point.
